Nowadays, every company is big on inclusion and diversity. They all immerse in it, embrace it, work towards self-discovery, fight this and enshrine that. Bla bla bla. Sorry, we have programming to do, which is what the clients expect and pay us for.
We’ll just keep hiring more women than men engineers and putting them in leadership and authority roles – nor because they have wombs, but because they are amazing at the job. And we’ll go on with building a multicultural, multinational workforce. Not that we have quotas, but because they come to us from all over, and we need skilled workers who are good people, irrespective of place of birth.
Let others proudly preach what we practice in all humility. Because diversity is not a trend. It’s either fact, or fiction. Integration is not a goal or a management trend. It’s just common sense and, frankly, a very basic matter of human decency. Not something to brag about in corporate statements.
